ICM deploys Auto Bag Drop Units at Jewel Changi Airport’s Early Check-in Facilities
Jewel Changi Airport (Jewel), the highly anticipated mixed-use lifestyle destination, opened its doors officially to the public today. 8 of ICM’s self-service Auto Bag Drop (ABD) units can be found at the Early Check-in airport facilities within Jewel. ICM’s ABD units at Jewel give travellers the option of checking in and dropping their luggage before arriving at their designated terminal, allowing them more time to relax, shop, and be entertained in Jewel prior to their flight.
ICM’s ABDs have been progressively rolled out across Changi Airport’s terminals over the past 2 years. This final set of 8 units at Jewel brings the total deployment to 150 ABDs.
Richard Dinkelmann, CEO of ICM Group stated: “We are very proud to have successfully completed this project – the largest deployment to date of unassisted self-service bag drop technology anywhere in the world. Our Series 7 Hybrid solution provides airlines with increased flexibility in their operations, as they can be operated either in self-service or conventional agent mode. We are honoured to supply our world class self-service bag drop technology to the world’s best airport and look forward to continued collaboration with Changi Airport.”
ICM’s ABD units can also be found in other major airports across the globe including London Heathrow, Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly, Marseilles Provence, Munich, Shanghai Hongqiao International and Sydney amongst many others.
