PTE London, Skytrax World Airport Awards
ICM exhibited at the 2019 Passenger Terminal Expo in London last month, demonstrating a number of new and improved self-service solutions including:
- Next Generation Check-In Kiosk
- Series 7 Auto Bag Drop unit
- Series 3 Auto Bag Drop unit with self-supporting Halo
- New single token biometric technology on all the available touchpoints
This year’s show was by far the biggest, with Passenger Terminal Today reporting a new record with over 10,000 people from more than 1,500 organisations and 130 countries in attendance. With over 350 suppliers exhibiting and presenting their latest innovations, PTE 2019 had a “strong focus on new biometric-enabled, self-service and data-driven solutions to speed operational throughput and improve the passenger experience.”
The 2019 Skytrax World Airport Awards were held at the end of Day 2, which saw many of ICM’s customers receive awards including:
- World’s Best Airport – Changi Airport Singapore (7th consecutive win)
- World’s Best Airport Terminal: Heathrow T5
2nd: Singapore Changi T3
4th: London Heathrow T2
6th: Singapore Changi T4 - Best Airport in Asia: Singapore Changi
- Best Airport in Australia/Pacific: Brisbane
- Best Airport in China: Shanghai Hongqiao
- Best Airport in Europe: Munich
- Best Airport in Western Europe: London Heathrow
After PTE, the ICM team headed to Hong Kong for the ACI Asia-Pacific World Annual General Assembly, Exhibition & Conference, hosted by Hong Kong International Airport.
